About Happi House Restaurants
Happi House is one of San Jose’s favorite eateries founded in 1976 by Mr. Joe Ikeda, a second-generation San Jose native whose family migrated from Japan during the 1920’s. Joe’s dream was to serve fresh, delicious and affordable Asian meals to a public that was on the go, and developed his family’s authentic Japanese recipes for Happi House. His first restaurant, still located in San Jose’s Japantown, was so popular that Happi House quickly grew to other neighborhoods throughout the bay area.
Although Happi House is most known for serving our one-of-a-kind teriyaki in our quick-service locations, we also do a large amount of catered events. Drawing from our several strategic locations in the area, over 100 employees, and an experienced catering team, Happi House is able to deliver, set-up, and service groups of all sizes. The Happi House team has catered events for Lockheed Martin, Coca-Cola, The Palo Alto Concours d’Elegance, Cal Bears Football, as well as many other large groups including schools, church gatherings, large picnics, and convention events. And our catering program has recently been featured on Chain Leader.com, Food & Beverage Magazine, and Franchising.com.
The flavorful Asian cuisine served during San Jose’s annual Obon Festival was the original inspiration for Happi House, and our menu suggestions include Happi House’s most popular menu items; our best-selling Teriyaki Chicken, Beef Teriyaki, Asian Chicken Salad, and, of course, our original Teriyaki Sauces. All of our dishes are freshly prepared with no trans fats or artificial flavors, and we use only premium produce, meats, and poultry.
